The Naptown Roller Girls came rolling into town looking for a good match up and they got one! The G-Rap Attack started the night out facing off against The Warning Belles. The Attack skated like they meant business. Both teams jammed and blocked relentlessly. At the end of the first half, the score was 35-42 with the G-Rap hot on their heels! The Warning Belles played an excellent game and were challenged by the tenacity that is G-RAP ATTACK! The veteran and newer skaters of the Attack have really come together to form a cohesive, effective team. The second half was full of hard hitting and outstanding jamming by both teams. This was the closest game the Belles have skated and there is no doubt that G-RAP had them shakin’ in their skates! The final score was 55-87.

The All Stars battled against the Tornado Sirens for points with every jam from the start of the first whistle blow. The All Stars started out strong in the first half, leading 42-35. The second half proved to be quite the challenge as the Sirens racked up 30 points in the first 7 jams! Now, at this point, some may have counted the All Stars out. But the All Stars knew that they weren’t going down without a fight. This was their house. The next four jams, both teams put points up on the board with the Sirens still in the lead. The tide turned on the Sirens during the eleventh jam when they were unable to score any points; all the while the All Stars began to narrow the gap in the score. The Sirens did not score again. With the last jam about to start, the crowd was roaring and on their feet because score was tied, 85-85. The All Stars demonstrated their effective blocking skills as they made way for their jammer to score ten more points to win the game!!! In the end, this was an awesome matchup, but someone had to win and that night, it was the All Stars!

A special thanks to all our fans and volunteers that came to this show stopping double header. We are extremely thankful for your support! See you on March 27th for another thrilling game with GRRG!

The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls hosted the Fort Wayne Derby Girls in a season opener that was action-packed and full of suspense! The first matchup was the G-Rap Attack versus the Fort Wayne SWAT Team. For many G-Rap Attack skaters, this was their first game and they really showed what they were made of. The Attack and SWAT Team came out swinging, taking turns racking up points in the first half. Near the end of the first half, The SWAT Team had several grand slams, making the Attack trail by 38 points.

In the second half, The Attack showed the both their tenacity and heart and the score definitely reflected that. The G-Rap Attack continued to put points up on the board but in the end it just wasn’t enough. The Fort Wayne SWAT Team proved to be a worthy competitor, winning 118-73. The Attack left the track with smiles on their faces because regardless of what the score said, they played hard, had fun and are looking forward to a rematch!

The second bout of the evening was a battle to the end as the GRRG All Stars went toe stop to toe stop against the hard hitting Fort Wayne Bomb Squad. These teams were evenly matched throughout the first half. Each jammer volleyed for points until the 13th jam when the All Stars powered through the pack to score 14 points! The Bomb Squad answered back with some high scoring jams of their own for the remainder of the half and took the lead 38-36.

That, however, was the last time they would see the lead as the All Stars stole the lead back and kept it! The All Stars kept scoring with the help from their blockers. The Bomb Squad continued to rack up points until the very end and nearly came back during the last jam by scoring 16 points. With no time left on the clock, the final score was 107-101. It was a close competitive game until the very last jam and All Stars came out of it victorious.
