Come help The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls fight back on the track on Saturday, March 27th! The Badass Bettys will finally get to show off their newly acquired derby skills with some your very own GRRG skaters! Two teams will duke it out in a charity match to benefit two very deserving charities, The North Kent Food Bank and Ovarian/Cervical Cancer Research. A truck will be parked outside the game to collect personal care items for the North Kent Food Bank. Those who donate will be given $1 off their ticket, not to mention much gratitude for their help! In addition to the donations outside, photos, shirts and other merchandise will be available for sale. Proceeds will be donated to benefit local Ovarian and Cervical Cancer research.

The second bout of the evening will feature our very own G-Rap Attack playing against the COMO Derby Dames from Columbia, Missouri. Warning: This game is not for charity. However, the G-Rap will be sure to hand out some killer hits as they showcase their stellar skating skills! Go get ‘em ladies!

2009 Walk for Lupus

Please join your Grand Raggidy Roller Girls in supporting the 2009 Walk for Lupus! Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Park’s Island Shelter (2011 Monroe Ave, Grand Rapids)

Your GRRG’s have been involved with the West Michigan Lupus Alliance since 2006. Lupus has affected many GRRG families and is a charity close to our hearts. Please join us in support for services and a cure!

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage and if not treated can become life threatening. In simple terms, lupus develops when the body becomes “allergic to itself.” There is no cure for lupus. Lupus affects adult women 10 times more frequently than men. Lupus is more prevalent than sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, yet it is the least known of all major diseases.
