The Meanwhile Warriors will throw down against Team Saz-A-Racks on Sept 25th at Rivertown Sports. Team Saz-A-Racks is ready to rack up the points but only has one thing skating in their way, The Meanwhile Warriors! The War of the Watering Holes is guaranteed to be an epic battle, pitting your favorite roller girls of The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls against one another until one team declares victory on the track.

2nd Annual Running of the Bulls!

Attention All Thrill Seekers! Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate matador of Grand Rapids ? The Bulls are back and ready to smack! The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14 at Founders where drink specials and a blessing from Reverend Boyd will kick the event off. From there, participants will be released as the feisty “Bulls” from the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls, Killamazoo Derby Darlins and Flint City Derby Girls chase you through the streets of Downtown Grand Rapids as you head to the next destination (and more drink specials.) Your final destination, if you survive, will be HopCat where there will even more specials and a DJ.

A Few Survival Tips

Safety in numbers: Bring your friends. If you’re gonna go down, might as will take your friends with you, right?

Prepare for the Run: Stretch out those legs. Have pre-run warm up beer at Founders to wet you’re your appetite. Runners are encouraged to get creative and dress up. Prizes will be awarded for the best theme, best costume and more.

Run fast!!! The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls, Killamazoo Derby Darlins and Flint City Derby Girls will be playing the role of the bulls! These fierce yet lovely creatures will be on their skates, sporting horns and wielding large bats to chase participants from bar to bar.

Blend in with your Surroundings. This year, the event itself will be free, but in order to enjoy drink specials you must purchase a wristband / t-shirt package for $15. Merchandise and T-shirt/wristbands combos will be sold before the run begins. A portion of the proceeds will go to C-SNIP.

Bowling with the Broads on the Quads!

Join GRRG at Wengers Bowling Alley on Friday for some good old bowling fun!!! This is a great chance to show off your mad skills or challenge someone to a game. (We heard Bette Mangler talking up her game. Someone needs to take her down!) If bowling isn’t your bag, come by and strike up a conversation with your favorite derby girl!

For only $12 a person, you will have access to unlimited bowling, a shoe rental, delicious pizza and pop! This is an all ages event so bring your family and friends to this fun filled evening!

All Stars play in the Midwest Brewhaha tournament

The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls are hitting the road! We are one of several teams participating in the the 1st annual Midwest Brewhaha on May 22 and May 23. Ten states, 20 teams, more than 300 roller derby girls all packed into one weekend! The event is the first of its kind in the region, based on number of participating teams and style of play. Full regulation games all weekend for all participants. It was created for skaters to maximize their interleague play over a weekend.

Two rinks will be buzzing for two days with 12 regulation bouts between the all-star teams of WFTDA North Central member leagues and 12 bouts open to any established team, including those not chartered by WFTDA.

The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls will start the weekend out playing The Hammer City Eh! Team from Canada. HCRG is the second international member of the WFTDA. GRRG recently celebrated their five year anniversary as a league and is excited to show our neighbors from the north what we’re made of!

Following the first full day of derby delight, GRRG will match up against the Omaha Rollergirls who are currently ranked 3 places below us at 12th. This will be an intense game as both teams will be rallying to improve their ranking in the North Central Region.

The event will be sanctioned by WFTDA and travel team bouts will count toward the participating leagues’ national rankings. Wish us luck and stay tuned for more news about your favorite roller girls, The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls!

All events will be open to the public, giving fans a chance to see up-and-coming regional derby talent as well as seasoned veteran skaters. They will be held at Milwaukee County Sports Complex at 6000 W. Ryan Rd., Franklin, WI. Tickets will be $40 for a weekend pass, $25 for a single-day pass and a $15 at the door after 6pm on each for the headline bouts each night. Grand Raggidy Roller Girls VS NEO Roller Girls — DOUBLE HEADER!

The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls are ready for a battle of the broads in a double header against North East Ohio’s Rock ‘N’ Roller Girls! Not only is this the first time the two leagues will duke it out, it is also the last home bout for GRRG until September!!! So get your tickets and get ready for a show as the hits keep coming courtesy of GRRG.

The G-Rap Attack! will play against NEO’s Audio Assault in the first of two games of this double header. The Attack is prepared to show NEO a thing or two about roller derby with their ever growing roster and skill. Like any one hit wonder, the Audio Assault will have their moments on the track but the G-Rap Attack! is the real rock star in this show.

The second bout will be the All Stars versus the Rock ‘N’ Roller Girls. The All Stars are currently ranked 9th in the North Central Region and are always pushing to improve their standing. NEO is a WFTDA Apprentice league trying to climb the ropes in their third season. They show great promise as a future league of the WFTDA. How these games will play out is still unknown, but we all know who the favorite is…

5 years of Derby in Grand Rapids!

Time flies when you’re having fun! April marks the five year anniversary of the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls League! What better way to recognize this special day than by having a double header against the Cincinnati Roller Girls.

The G-Rap Attack will kick off the event playing against the Cincinnati Silent Lambs. With a fresh lineup and high spirits, the Attack is ready to get on the track and get down to business. Be sure to get there early to get a good seat! This game is sure to be a fantastic start to a mind-blowing evening with your favorite roller girls!

Following the Attack, the second game of the evening will showcase the All Stars versus the Black Sheep. The All Stars have matched up against the Black Sheep on multiple occasions, but have not yet claimed a victory. The All Stars will be going into this match with a winning record and hope to continue the streak. Cincy is currently ranked fourth in the North Central Region. There is no doubt that CRG will be a worthy competitor. GRRG is more prepared than ever and wants to take the win.

The G-Rap Attack! VS COMO Derby Dames — DOUBLE HEADER — GRRG skate for charity

Come help The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls fight back on the track on Saturday, March 27th! The Badass Bettys will finally get to show off their newly acquired derby skills with some your very own GRRG skaters! Two teams will duke it out in a charity match to benefit two very deserving charities, The North Kent Food Bank and Ovarian/Cervical Cancer Research. A truck will be parked outside the game to collect personal care items for the North Kent Food Bank. Those who donate will be given $1 off their ticket, not to mention much gratitude for their help! In addition to the donations outside, photos, shirts and other merchandise will be available for sale. Proceeds will be donated to benefit local Ovarian and Cervical Cancer research.

The second bout of the evening will feature our very own G-Rap Attack playing against the COMO Derby Dames from Columbia, Missouri. Warning: This game is not for charity. However, the G-Rap will be sure to hand out some killer hits as they showcase their stellar skating skills! Go get ‘em ladies!

Grand Raggidy Roller Girls VS Naptown Roller Girls — DOUBLE HEADER!

Love comes in all shapes and sizes. For GRRG, love comes in the form of roller derby! The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls are ready to show that love hurts as they host the second double header of the season against the Naptown Roller Girls. The G-Rap Attack will start the night out facing off against The Warning Belles. Immediately following the Attack, The All Stars will wage war against the Tornado Sirens as they fight for both bragging rights and to maintain or improve their regional placement in the North Central Regional rankings of WFTDA.

What better way to show your favorite derby girls some love than by cheering them on Saturday, February 20th, at Rivertown Sports Complex in Grandville MI. The doors open at five so you can get in early, get a seat and get ready for the lovefest at 6:00!
